Ontario’s new car and truck dealers association for automobile dealers, consumers and government
For over 100 years, our association has been leading progressive and innovative work on behalf of new car and truck dealers. Since 1908, we have been co-operating with government and our members to establish fair and uniform business practices, standards of advertising and training, and proactive programs to enhance customer service for consumers.
The UCDA currently represents more than 4600 dealer members who are estimated to account for over 70% of the dealers registered in Ontario who actively participate in the Used Vehicle Industry.
OMVIC (Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council) enforces the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, 2002 (MVDA) on behalf of the Ontario government through the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS). Our mandate is to maintain a fair and informed marketplace in Ontario by protecting the rights of consumers, enhancing industry professionalism and ensuring fair, honest and open competition for registered motor vehicle dealers.
Our adherence to these ideals is reflected in our mission statement:
We will take pride in the results of our commitment to a fair marketplace, achieved through innovation, enforcement and excellence in service.
The Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) is the national association for franchised automobile and truck dealerships that sell new cars and trucks. Our 3,200 dealers represent a key sector of Canada's economy. Through our dealers, we are represented in nearly every community and those dealers collectively employ over 140,000 people across the country.
