HONDA CIVIC NAMED 2022 NORTH AMERICAN CAR OF THE YEAR

The 11th generation Honda Civic has been named the 2022 North American Car of the Year by the NACTOY judges, the most prestigious award a vehicle can receive in North America.

The North American Car of the Year is selected by a panel of 50 senior automotive journalists from across North America. Presented since 1994, these awards evaluate all new vehicles on the market according to a series of criteria ranging from driving experience, technology, performance, safety and driving pleasure.

This is the third time the Honda Civic has won the NACTOY North American Car of the Year award. The Civic was also award in 2016 and 2006. Honda also won North American Car of the Year in 2018 with the Honda Accord while the 2017 Honda Ridgeline was named North American Truck of the Year five years ago.

"Throughout its history, the Honda Civic has led the passenger car segment," says Steve Hui, assistant vice president, Honda Canada. "The all-new, universally acclaimed 2022 Civic is a testament to Honda's development, design, manufacturing and creative talent. With the Civic sedan and Si proudly made in Canada at the Honda of Canada Mfg. plant in Alliston, Ontario, and the Civic hatchback assembled in Greensburg, Indiana, this is a truly North American vehicle that meets the needs of a multitude of people and lifestyles."

The 2022 Honda Civic has been redesigned from the ground up this year. It offers more technology, more safety, better performance and a wide range of trim levels with sedan, hatchback and the sporty Civic Si models.
