2023 HONDA HR-V: IMPRESSIVE NEW FEATURES

  
After much success, the first generation Honda HR-V (2016-2022) is bowing out to make way for the second generation model. We expected improvements for the pre-owned, but we were downright bowled over by the vehicle that arrived.
  
The 2023 Honda HR-V is a much more refined SUV. Some of its new features are downright impressive.
  
Let's start with the powertrain that now serves the model. Since it's built on the new Civic's chassis, it also benefits from its base engine, a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder that offers 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. In all circumstances, this engine is wonderfully suited to the HR-V. Performance is up to par and we already know that fuel economy is also optimal with this powertrain. As for the continuously variable transmission (CVT), we know it's efficient and reliable.
  
Consequently, the new generation of the HR-V takes a huge step forward in terms of powertrain.
  
The chassis
  
The other impressive element is the chassis of this Civic, adjusted for the HR-V. Compared to the old structure, it's night and day. Let's face it, it served the first generation well, but considering the improvements made to the Civic, it's quite a gift that was given to the HR-V. The base of the latter is now stronger and more rigid, so that on the road, you feel the benefits from the very first kilometers. Then, when it comes to comfort, since an independent type of suspension sits in the back (instead of a torsion beam), the comfort level is greatly enhanced.
  
And because it's stiffer, you can hit the road with more confidence and poise.

Finally, the other big news that impresses with this 2023 HR-V is the level of comfort and refinement that the interior offers. We don't expect this from an entry-level model, but Honda has left nothing to chance in order to satisfy us.
  
The interior is rich and of excellent quality, and the environment is designed to facilitate access to all the controls. The seats are better sculpted than ever and guarantee an excellent level of comfort, even if you spend several hours behind the wheel. Finally, features like wireless cell phone charging and cable-free connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, available on select models, confirm the new HR-V's status as a small, luxurious vehicle.
