The 2022 Honda Civic and the 2022 Honda Accord have been named the Best cars in their respective categories by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. Both the Honda Civic and Honda Accord outperformed their respective competitors according to AJAC journalists which ranked each eligible new vehicle this year on a series of criteria after a year of testing culminating in back-to-back testing last October.
The 2022 Honda Civic which has been completely redesigned this year was named the Best Small Car and is now eligible for the 2022 Canadian Car of the Year award. This latest award for the Civic builds upon what has already been a great year for the Honda compact sedan. The Honda Civic was named the North American Car of the Year earlier this year, while also receiving an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and named Best Car Overall in Canada by AutoTrader.
The 2022 Honda Civic was also the best-selling car in the country last year. It has owned that distinct title for the last 24 years.
“We continue to humbled and excited at the attention and accolades the 2022 Honda Civic is receiving and we want to thank all of our associates at Honda of Canada Mfg. for helping to make this award a reality,” said Steve Hui, Assistant Vice President of Honda Canada. “This is a vehicle that has deep roots in Canada, as it is built locally and has been incredibly popular since its inception. We could not be prouder of this latest Civic achievement.”
As for the 2022 Honda Accord, it was named the Best Large Car by AJAC journalists. The Accord has also won multiple awards just like the Civic including the 2018 North American and Canadian Car of the Year Awards. The Honda Accord has also been Car&Driver’s 10Best list for the 36th time. Discover why Honda vehicles win so many awards and stand out in their respective segments by giving us a call today.
